Man Utd star skips FA Cup celebrations to put future in huge doubt

Casemiro missed the celebrations as Manchester United’s players partied after their FA Cup success with the Brazilian’s future in doubt heading into the summer

Casemiro was absent from the Manchester United celebrations as the team partied following their FA Cup success.

The Brazilian didn’t feature for the Red Devils at Wembley and, rather than enjoying the success with his team-mates, opted to jet off with his family immediately afterwards. It will cast further doubt over his future in Manchester amid links of a move away this summer.

Whilst videos and images of the United players circulated on social media. The midfielder was pictured jetting off on holiday with his family. Casemiro’s wife Anna Mariana shared a photo of the couple on a flight with their two children, Sara and Caio. She wrote: “Gone on vacation”.

Casemiro has struggled for form this term after an excellent debut season. The ex-Real Madrid star is on huge wages with plenty of years remaining on his deal and there is talk of United trying to cut their losses.

The player has hit back in the face of criticism this term, reminding people of how he performed just 12 months ago. He said: “I was considered one of the best signings of the Premier League last season, and now I’m not worth anything anymore?”

Casemiro has been part of a United midfielder that have struggled to perform with the Red Devils posting their worst ever league finish. Young star Kobbie Mainoo has come in and dislodged the Brazilian from the first-team such has been his decline.

The ex-Madrid man, who has claimed numerous Champions League titles, has filled in as a makeshift centre-half in recent weeks, but that has done little to further his case with Casemiro part of a back four that shipped four in an embarrassing loss at Crystal Palace.

Jamie Carragher suggested in the final weeks of the season that the Brazilian should consider seeking pastures new. “I think Casemiro should know tonight that he should only have another three games left at the top level,” he said. “The next two league games and the cup final, then he should be thinking, I need to go to the MLS or Saudi.

“This has to stop because we are watching one of the greats of the modern time. I always remember the saying ‘leave the football before the football leaves you’. The football has left him. At this top level, he needs to call it a day at this level and move.
