Enzo Fernandez could help Chelsea add nearly £185m to summer transfer budget

March 28, 2025

Chelsea will have the chance to significantly increase their transfer budget by selling up to eight players at the end of the season. The west Londoners have been the Premier League’s busiest club over the last few years, making a huge number of signings. They could decide to trim their bloated squad when the market opens, with Enzo Fernandez among those said to be attracting interest.

The midfielder has emerged as a target for Atletico Madrid, according to Spanish outlet AS. He reportedly wants to stay at Chelsea for now, but the report claims that ‘all options are open’ regarding a summer sale. If he does leave, it could kickstart a mass exodus at Stamford Bridge.

This would raise plenty of transfer funds, given that Fernandez and others would command significant fees. He is valued at £62.5million by Transfermarkt but it is likely that Chelsea would be able to negotiate a higher amount, given that he is tied down until 2032.

Noni Madueke is another player to have been linked with a potential exit, with his estimated value listed at £33.3m. The likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle are said to be interested and TBR Football have claimed that Chelsea are open to selling him.

Leeds United are set to confirm Javi Gracia’s sacking and Sam Allardyce’s arrival on Wednesday (3 May).
