Considering Bayern’s clearly announced goal of reducing the salary expenditure, Serge Gnabry’s contract, which makes him one of the biggest earners at the club, along with his fluctuating performances over the years was always going to see the Germany international put under a lot of scrutiny. With less than 12 months until his contract ends, Gnabry has had to prove his value and that he has so far this season, blossoming in a central role in the absence of Jamal Musiala.
