Man Utd news: Marcus Rashford shares Ruben Amorim verdict as immediate sacking demanded

November 20, 2024

New Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is currently in the midst of preparations for his Red Devils managerial debut against Ipswich at Portman Road this weekend

Manchester United are counting down to Ruben Amorim’s debut.

The Portuguese coach takes charge of his first game since becoming the club’s new manager this weekend. It will see the Red Devils take on newly-promoted Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

He will also be aiming to continue the positive form that the side found under interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy. The Dutchman won three out of his four games at the helm before being told he would not be part of Amorim’s coaching staff.

With the international break coming to a close, the new manager has had a chance to get his players down to work on the training ground. Take a look at all of the news from Old Trafford from over the past 24 hours:

Rashford shares Amorim verdict
Marcus Rashford has slathered praise on Ruben Amorim after training under his new manager for the first time. The striker has returned to Carrington over recent days after a short break following his England omission.

And he was part of a select group of players to get an insight into Amorim’s way of working. Taking to Instagram after Monday’s training session, Rashford wrote: “Top session today”.

The forward will certainly hope that Amorim can help him discover his best form. Rashford has struggled this season, scoring just four times – only one of which has come in the Premier League.

Keys demands sacking
Richard Keys has demanded Man United sack a member of their recruitment team after splurging nearly £200m this summer – only to fire Erik ten Hag. The Red Devils signed five new players this summer, leaving new boss Amorim a ‘modest’ budget.

And Keys believes that major misstep should see another backroom shake-up at Old Trafford. Taking to Twitter, he said: “Every briefing coming out of OT underlines what a cataclysmic mistake it was keeping ten Toast last summer.

“They let him spend another £200m+ on rubbish & now there’s nothing for Amorim. Somebody in the brains trust should be fired. There’s nothing for Amorim to work with.”

Ten Hag spotted
Speaking of Ten Hag, the former United manager has been spotted back in Manchester nearly a month after his sacking. The Dutchman had initially returned to his hometown of Haaksbergen and has been pictured in the stands at two Eredivisie matches over the past few weekends.
