‘What a buy’ – Nottingham Forest’s ‘twinkle toes’ star thrills in Crystal Palace victory
Nottingham Forest won at home for the first time this season thanks to a goal from Chris Wood
Nottingham Forest are up to eighth in the Premier League after Dean Henderson allowed Chris Wood’s daisy-cutter to settle an eventful game at the City Ground.
The Crystal Palace goalkeeper endured an unhappy return to his former stomping ground as the Eagles’ wait for a first win of the season continues.
However, Wood’s fifth of the campaign means the Reds have their first home victory of what is shaping up to be a promising start. Not least because this victory was secured without Morgan Gibbs-White and James Ward-Prowse and with Nuno in the stands serving a suspension.
Responding on NottinghamshireLive’s website Forest fans were pleased with their team’s efforts – and particularly those of Morgan Gibbs-White’s stand-in Elliot Anderson.
stockyred: Deserved in the end. Some good moments and plenty of graft. But … Anderson – what a buy!
Cheeks: Good, competitive game, could’ve gone either way. Seems like that every week at the moment. That was a good win against Palace side who are better than their league position.
