‘We have to accept it’ – Lisandro Martinez explains how Manchester United players can improve

Man United suffered a heavy defeat against Bournemouth at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday.
Lisandro Martinez has warned Manchester United’s players must show “personality and character” in the coming weeks.
United enjoyed a stunning victory against Manchester City in the derby last weekend but they have been brought back down to earth after two defeats in four days.
Ruben Amorim’s side crashed out of the Carabao Cup against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday and Bournemouth hammered United 3-0 in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
United created chances against Bournemouth but made mistakes at crucial moments, meaning the opportunity to move into the top half of the table with a victory was squandered.
Martinez looked disappointed when he conducted media duties and he explained how his teammates must show spirit to improve their current situation. United are 13th in the table.
“I always say in this kind of situation we have to show personality and character. We are playing so well and unfortunately, we couldn’t score today. We have to believe,” he said.
“At this club, we have to win every game and we know that. We are so angry with this kind of situation. We have to work on set-pieces especially. I believe a lot in this team and staff.
“If they don’t score their first goal from set-pieces then it is a totally different game. We missed many chances today. We have to score. We know what we have to do and we have to change quickly.
