Troy Deeney sends George Hall transfer message to Premier League amid latest Leeds United links
Hall has been linked with a move to several Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Everton and Leeds United
Troy Deeney has tipped off several Premier League teams about the talents of his Birmingham City teammate George Hall. Hall has been linked with a number of top flight clubs over the last few months with Leeds United said to be one club chasing the youngster’s signature.
The Daily Mail credited Leeds with interest earlier this week, but they aren’t the only club on Hall’s tail, it seems, with Everton and Liverpool also rumoured to be keen on the 18-year-old. Birmingham have no interest in cashing in on their brightest young talent, though, according to Birmingham Live, and a move seems unlikely at this stage of the transfer window.
However, that hasn’t stopped Deeney from reaching out to several clubs to make them aware of Hall’s ability and potential.
“I’ve warned about five or six other teams that I know, like Nobes (Mark Noble) at West Ham, like get this kid now, he’s only 18 but he’s mustard, mate.”
Hall only made his debut for the Blues in January last year, but he has well and truly broken through into John Eustace’s first-team ranks at St Andrew’s. This season alone he has made 18 league appearances and while a chunk of those have come as a substitute, he has managed to catch the eye with his performances in the Championship.
The midfielder made his debut for England Under-19s earlier this season, too, alongside Leeds youngsters Darko Gyabi and Sonny Perkins, helping the Three Lions secure their place in the elite round of qualification for the 2023 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. Leeds have made a habit of recruiting promising young talent in recent seasons and they have also been strongly linked with a move for Servette defender Diogo Monteiro.
