Tottenham have ‘extraordinary’ £61m striker on summer list deemed as good as Erling Haaland

Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be in the market for a new striker this summer as Spurs look to bring in more fire power in the final third ahead of a potential campaign in next season’s Champions League.

Spurs currently sit in fifth place in the Premier League, three points behind Aston Villa – but with a game in hand. Five teams are expected to qualify for the Champions League at the end of the current season.

It means that even if Spurs fail to catch Villa, they could well find themselves in Europe’s elite competition anyway. If they do so, strength in depth is required – something lacking in Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Richarlison had been first choice up top. Son Heung-min has been used there, too – with Timo Werner on the left wing. It is claimed that Richarlison could leave Tottenham, if the right offer is made for him.

So, the chances are, Spurs will be in the market for a new striker. Caught Offside say that Dusan Vlahovic is a target for Tottenham – with a number of strikers on the list, including Jonathan David and Ivan Toney.

Vlahovic, 24, has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, even before he joined Juventus in 2022 for a fee of £61m. At Juve, he has scored 38 goals in 90 matches, as well as laying on nine assists.

This season, his best spell since joining Juve – scoring 15 goals in 27 games for the Old Lady. A player that is considered one of the best centre-forwards in the world right now, described as “extraordinary”.

Indeed, he has even been likened to that of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland recently. If Spurs can get a deal done for the Serbia star, it would be wonderful business – though he promises to be expensive.

Vlahovic would get the best out of Tottenham’s attackers
Vlahovic would be an incredible signing if Tottenham were able to pull it off. But, he is the kind of striker that probably improves all Premier League clubs and if Spurs can do a deal – then it would be a real coup.

The kind of striker that brings in other attacking stars. The likes of Son, Deki Kulusevski, Werner and more would thrive with a target man in the presence of Vlahovic up top. It could take them to the next level.

Spurs can afford Vlahovic – but, the real doubt about a possible move for the Juve star is whether or not he would be tempted by a move to North London. He has a deal at Juventus until the summer of 2026.
