Toon identify plan B to Moussa Diaby if Bayer Leverkusen star signs elsewhere

April 4, 2023

The report states that both ourselves, Man Utd and Arsenal are showing interest in the in-form Frenchman, but add that Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby remains our ‘preferred option.’

Kolo Muani actually beat Diaby to a place in France’s World Cup squad last year and has been in superb form this season, bagging 16 goals and 14 assists in all competitions.

He predominantly operates as a striker but is equally comfortable playing own either flank, with the 24-year-old often operating on the right during his time with Nantes in France.

Speaking to Sport 1 about the forward’s future, Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche had this to say in a recent interview:

“Basically, we have no intention of giving up Randal Kolo Muani after just one year with us this summer, but the hype about him is understandable and completely fine. He deserves it after his great performance.

“We want to continue to walk the path together with him and not necessarily sell him. Another season with us would certainly do him good.”

Given his age, current form and ability to play in several positions in attack, it’s easy to see why Kolo Muani may appeal to the club’s recruitment team.
