Sporting Lisbon star addresses future amid Arsenal and Chelsea transfer links

Viktor Gyokeres has enjoyed a phenomenal season with Sporting CP but been widely linked to a transfer away from the club since hitting the ground running in Portugal

Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyokeres is waiting until the summer to consider his future, amid speculation linking the striker to the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Swedish star has enjoyed a stunning season in Portugal on his way to 36 goals and 14 assists in 39 outings. Sporting lead the way in Primeira Liga off the back of Gyokeres’ efforts but the forward is said to have a release clause of £87million.

The 25-year-old joined the Portuguese top-flight side in the summer from Championship Coventry. The Sky Blues received in the region of £21m for his services, with £4m of that available in add-ons.

Arsenal and Chelsea are both expected to strengthen their forward lines in the coming summer and have been linked to making a move for the Sweden international. Gyokeres is unconcerned about the prospect of a move for the moment.
