Sky Sports say billionaire-owned club now want to sign Leeds ace, CL side also circling

August 17, 2023

Nice and Feyenoord are currently the frontrunners in the race for Leeds United winger Luis Sinisterra.

Who claim those are the two clubs most strongly in the hunt for the Colombian, who is seeking an exit from Elland Road before the end of the window.

Nice are currently owned by British-billionaire businessman Jim Ratcliffe, who has been in the running to takeover at Manchester United this summer.

The Ligue 1 side have been among the biggest spenders in France since Ratcliffe’s takeover, with only PSG and Marseille having a higher net spend in that time period.

And they could now be prepared to splash out again, this time on Leeds ace Sinisterra, though they will face competition from his former club Feyenoord.

Nice and Feyenoord battle for Leeds’ Sinisterra
Sinisterra is currently training away from the rest of the first team squad at Leeds with Daniel Farke claiming he is not in the right headspace to be with the rest of the squad.

Farke claimed there are some ‘legal questions’ surrounding the exit clauses in his contract, which Leeds want clarifying before he is brought back into the fold.

It is public knowledge that the vast majority of Leeds’ squad had/have a relegation release clause in their contract, however Farke also dropped a huge hint they have now expired.

That puts Leeds in a much stronger position in terms of negotiation and if they are to move him on, can get a fee significantly closer to what he is worth.

As per Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, Sinisterra does want to leave this summer, but Leeds will accept no less than £22 million.
