Sky Sports finally issue update on when Everton will receive appeal verdict

February 19, 2024

Everton finally seem set to learn their fate after one Sky Sports presenter issued a vital update live on Super Sunday yesterday afternoon.

It finally marks the culmination of months of legal disputes and off-pitch arguments, spanning from in the courtroom to in the stands.

Well, it is the fans who now have one last push to overcome before they can learn their fate, that which could drastically alter the make-up of an already tumultuous campaign.

A positive outcome could be so important in offering the players a keen boost in their hour of need. A negative one might force even further heads down.

Not only are the points integral in all of this, but so too are the new mentality their remuneration or continued absence will command.

What Sky Sports said about Everton’s appeal
Well, it was Dave Jones who broke Sky Sports’ silence on the matter, as a broadcaster who has come under increasing scrutiny for their lack of coverage on such a poignant matter.

Censoring protests and refusing to air Andy Burnham’s interview, it is no surprise that Sky Sports is one on a long list of enemies that the Evertonians have forged in recent weeks.

But, the hope is that their information remains valid, with the presenter simply claiming live on air: ‘Expect to hear in next 24-48 hours’.

Everton set to learn their fate at last
Well, this has been a waiting game that has tortured an entire fanbase for months now.

Not only does the fate of the club potentially rest in the hands of this independent commission, but also the mental state of many Evertonians, for whom this club is their life.

At the end of the day, any ruling which enforces a sporting sanction is done so to punish the fans, not those at the top, and in this case in particular it is Farhad Moshiri, the real perpetrator, who seems set to get off without any reprimand.

Seeking to jump ship after years of failed transfers and managerial appointments, once he gets permission from the Premier League to dump the club onto 777 Partners, he is off.

And yet, the wider ramifications that are coming from his very actions will be felt for months, maybe even years after, by which point he will be long gone.

The wait for an outcome has been painfully slow, and only adds to this relentlessly frustrating process. At last, it seems set to come to an end.
