SHERALDO BECKER OPEN TO LEAVING UNION BERLIN IN THE FUTURE

February 13, 2023

When asked about the prospect of change, Becker said: “A next step in the Bundesliga or into another big league would be wonderful.” Becker sees Ajax as an option: “I grew up there. What Ajax stands for and what the association means to me will never change.”

The 28-year-old came through the Ajax academy before being sold to ADO Den Haag in 2016.

Becker joined Union in 2019 on a free transfer from ADO and has gone on to make 103 appearances, scoring 17 times for Union. This season has been his best season so far in Berlin as he has scored seven times and assisted four but his production in the latter parts of the year had fallen off.

The attacker recently signed a contract extension at Union until 2025, but Becker began to attract interest from clubs in the Premier League in the recent January transfer window.

Union are currently second in the Bundesliga one point behind Bayern Munich after their 2-1 win against RB Leipzig on Saturday evening.
