Sean Dyche may decide to make two changes to his starting XI when Everton host Manchester City in a crunch Premier League clash on Sunday (14 May).

The Toffees gave their survival hopes a huge shot in the arm by hammering Brighton 5-1 last time out, leaving them a place and two points above the drop zone.

Abdoulaye Doucoure put in a hugely impressive performance for Everton in that fixture, scoring twice in a dominant midfield showing.

The dilemma for Dyche is a little deeper in midfield, with Amadou Onana impressing in a short cameo off the bench, grabbing the assist for Dwight McNeil’s late second.

Onana had missed the previous fixture against fellow strugglers Leicester City, which finished in a 2-2 draw, and James Garner has taken his opportunity since coming into the side.

It means Idrissa Gueye, who was booked against Brighton, may find himself on the bench in place of Onana when the league leaders and defending champions make the short hop to Merseyside.

Dyche also has a decision to make at centre-back, with Yerra Mina having made his first appearance under Dyche against Brighton.

With the Colombia defender having not got much game time under his belt, Michael Keane may be recalled to the starting line-up to partner James Tarkowski – who looks like a shoo-in to play.

Nathan Patterson and Vitalii Mykolenko appear locked in at full-back, while no changes are expected further forward.

McNeil’s two-goal show against Brighton means it is unlikely Dyche will turn to Demarai Gray, while Alex Iwobi’s high work-rate off the ball is perfect for the style of play employed by the former Burnley boss.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has just two Premier League goals to his name in another injury-hit campaign, but provided he is fit he will be the man Dyche employs to lead the line once again.
