Sassuolo winger admits to having Champions League dream as Milan rekindle interest
AC Milan have once again been linked with a move for Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi, and the player has admitted to having Champions League ambitions.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) report that Milan are looking to follow up the renewal of Rafael Leao by signing a ‘twin’ on the right wing, that being a winger who guarantees a higher level of attacking output compared to the current options.
Domenico Berardi was mentioned as one of the names. The Italy international has regularly scored double figures in league goals over the past few seasons, and Stefano Pioli likes him even if he has an asking price of €30m.
The paper also released an excerpt of his interview with SportWeek which will come out tomorrow, in which Berardi makes it clear he still harbours aspirations of making the jump to a big club.
“I’ve been aiming to play in the Champions League for quite some time. But things come in threes: who sells, who buys and the player. I realised that it’s a bit difficult to get everyone to agree,” he said.
