Sacha Boey explains why the pressure, even at Bayern Munich, does not affect him
That should prove to be very useful at Bayern.
When Sacha Boey first joined Galatasaray, he faced some struggles to adapt to the country and get into the starting lineup of the Turkish giants, with injury disrupting his progress. These struggles got so bad that rumors of a departure started to grow ever louder and more persistent, a development that is sure to have been annoying to the club’s fans. But the Frenchman put in the effort to improve and cement himself in the starting lineup. So when Boey finally left the Turkish club for Bayern Munich, the fans reacted not in disappointment but in pride, behind him all the way. Boey had won them over and the former Stade Rennais player did it by putting his head down, accepting the pressure and using it to improve himself.
Recalling the Galatasaray fans, Boey had nothing but the highest praise for them: “Galatasaray fans are really extraordinary. My best moment was definitely when we won the league together. When you leave Turkey, the pressure doesn’t affect you anymore: there’s so much pressure there that you can play anywhere afterwards,” Boey stated, via @iMiaSanMia. For example, when I play in full stadiums in Germany now, I’m well prepared because I experienced all of that in Turkey. I know what it means to play in front of big crowds.”
