Real Madrid to ‘step up pursuit’ of Premier League defender during international break

Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to step up their pursuit of Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen over the international break.
Huijsen has been one of the standout performers in Andoni Iraola’s side since he established himself in the backline in December.
The 19-year-old, who arrived from Juventus last summer, has made 16 consecutive Premier League starts having formed a strong central defensive partnership with Ilya Zabarnyi.
Huijsen was initially called up to the Spain Under-21s squad, before it was announced on Monday that he will replace the injured Inigo Martinez in the senior side.
The Dutch-born defender will hope to make his international debut in Spain’s two-legged affair against the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals.
