Real Madrid suffer international break nightmare as their ‘lucky charm’ goes down injured

March 23, 2025

Jeremy de Leon, considered a lucky charm for Real Madrid, is facing a difficult campaign with Castilla.

The Puerto Rican winger has barely had a chance to showcase his talent this season, with injuries preventing him from finding any rhythm on the pitch.

His latest setback came during his national team’s clash against the Dominican Republic, where he had to leave the field in tears after just 26 minutes, reports MARCA.

The issue was once again related to his left shoulder, the same area that required surgery last November. This time, Real Madrid will evaluate whether to use the Jude Bellingham method or a new operation.

Injuries ruining his chances
This marks his third injury this season, adding to a frustrating spell. Initially, he missed a month due to an ankle sprain sustained in training with Real Madrid’s first team.

That was followed by his shoulder surgery, which kept him sidelined for nearly three months. Just when he was on the road to recovery, another injury in the same area has put his return on hold.
