REAL MADRID STAR OPTS FOR VINÍCIUS OVER JUDE BELLINGHAM IN BALLON D’OR DEBATE

A headline member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has provided his take on which of teammates Vinícius Jr. and Jude Bellingham is more deserving of the next Ballon d’Or award.

The subject of the brilliance of both Vinícius and Bellingham has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in Spain over the course of the last 12 hours.

As much comes after the pair played starring roles in Real Madrid’s dominant victory over Alavés.

En route to an eventual 5-0 result, the former was on target to the tune of a brace, with midfielder Bellingham having added a goal of his own, as well as two assists.

This comes amid mounting chatter that the two Blancos stars – just a solitary victory away from sealing a domestic and European double – have emerged as the clear frontrunners to be named world football’s best player.

Speaking to the media on the back of his side’s latest three-point haul, a fellow member of Carlo Ancelotti’s ranks was in turn asked to choose his favourite for the Ballon d’Or.

And, in his response, defender Éder Militão opted for his fellow countryman.

“Both great, but Vinícius,” Militão explained.
