Real Madrid Reaches Agreement To Sign New Player, Reports Local Media

January 20, 2024

Real Madrid has a reached an agreement to sign a new player in the ongoing January transfer window, according to MARCA and AS.

Madrid’s growing injury list, which involves season-ending knocks to Antonio Rudiger, forced the media to question Carlo Ancelotti at many a press conference as to whether Los Blancos would bring in reinforcements for the rest of the season which will entail a Champions League and La Liga double push.

The Italian head coach said more than once that there will be no new signings, with Nacho and Antonio Rudiger doing a sterling job in central defense and midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni another option to provide cover when one of the two men is injured, suspended or in need of a rest.

Furthermore, Brazil international Eder Militao is expected to be on his way back to match fitness much quicker than expected, and is essentially a new signing for Ancelotti and his squad.

With all this being said, though, Madrid is still making moves in the transfer market.

According to MARCA, the club has reached an agreement to sign right-footed Puerto Rican winger Jeremy de Leon whose contract at Castellon was set to expire on June 30.

Rather than extend with his current club, De Leon preferred to sign for Madrid’s Castilla academy and will give up money that was coming his way as a consequence.
