Real Madrid linked with €100 million French striker

Real Madrid have one of the best French strikers in history in their ranks in the form of Karim Benzema. He has delivered the goods for the club for over a decade and reached the pinnacle of individual achievements in football last year, winning the Ballon d’Or after guiding Los Blancos to a Champions League and La Liga double in the 2021/22 campaign.

Benzema is absolutely adored by the Real Madrid fans. One cannot hide from the fact though that he is 35 years of age and has been struggling with injuries this season. The club cannot rely on him to be the main man for many more years.

Thus, they need to begin the search for their next long-term striker. And one man that they are being linked with has been sensational in the Bundesliga this season.

Real Madrid are hoping to sign Randal Kolo Muani at the end of the season. They will face competition from Liverpool for the 24-year-old French international.

Kolo Muani currently plays for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga and has been putting up some great numbers for them. Before this season, not many fans would have even heard of him, but now, it is believed that it could take a transfer fee close to €100 million to sign the French international.

Other than his stunning form for Eintracht Frankfurt, Kolo Muani played his part in France’s run to the World Cup final as well. He was very close to scoring the winner in the final against Argentina as well, if not for the outstretched leg of Dibu Martinez.

At 24 years of age, Kolo Muani could be a brilliant long-term replacement for Benzema. Similar to the French legend, not only is he good at scoring but also equally adept at setting up his teammates. At the same time though, it does feel like he is a little too unproven to shell out a transfer fee anywhere close to €100 million to sign him.
