RANGERS IN POLE POSITION TO SECURE TRANSFER AGREEMENT FOR CHAMPIONSHIP STAR
The 27-year-old has emerged as the Championship club’s number one during this season and is being eyed up north of the border by the Ibrox club.
On Sunday, a report from The Sun revealed that the Scottish giants have an interest in the Norwich shot-stopper as they consider their options ahead of the next campaign.
Current Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson helped bring Gunn to Southampton back in 2018 and that could help play a part in the Scottish club’s pursuit.
The report does state that Livingston goalkeeper Shamal George is also being considered by the Rangers hierarchy as it remains to be seen if 41-year-old Allan McGregor will continue into the next campaign.
The verdict
It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out and how strong Rangers’ interest in Gunn is when the summer transfer window opens its door for business.
Keeping two clean sheets in 15 league appearances thus far this season, Gunn has conceded just 16 goals in that time and has managed to secure the number one shirt after starting the season in a deputy role.
Possessing a contract that does not expire until 2025, it is likely that it will not be a cheap deal for the Gers to complete.
Norwich are in the position of power if Rangers do look to strengthen their interest ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window.
