Rafael Leao: ‘Milan not happy with Dortmund draw’
Rafael Leao insists Milan are ‘absolutely not happy’ with the 0-0 draw away to Borussia Dortmund. ‘When you don’t score in the Champions League, it is a problem.’
The Rossoneri made history by failing to find the net in four consecutive Champions League matches, including both legs of last season’s semi-final against Inter.
“We are absolutely not happy with the draw. We controlled the game against Newcastle too and created chances, but didn’t score, so it was only a point,” Leao told Amazon Prime Video Italia.
“Today we were pretty much in control and created opportunities, especially difficult in an atmosphere like this, but we didn’t score again.”
These results leave Milan in third place on just two points from as many games and multiple regrets, especially as Newcastle United crushed PSG 4-1.
“Considering all we’ve done in these two games, we deserved more. When you don’t score in the Champions League, it is a problem. I am happy with the performance, but disappointed with the final result.
“We lacked efficiency, that is where we got it wrong. We have to be more determined in front of goal.”
The next test is a trip to Paris Saint-Germain, who incredibly were beaten 4-1 by Newcastle United this evening with Gianluigi Donnarumma capitulating to Sandro Tonali.
“We know it is a tough group with good teams, but we are going to Paris looking for the victory. We respect our opponents, they have great players, but our objective is to go through to the next phase.”
