Psg Man Marco Asensio Could Miss Extended Period With Injury
As reported by L’Équipe, PSG attacker Marco Asensio could be out for a lengthy period of action due to an injury sustained during the international break.
The Spanish international picked up an issue with his foot during Spain’s 7-1 thrashing of Georgia last Friday and had to be withdrawn as a result. Although La Roja coach Luis de la Fuente initially suggested there was little to fear for the former Real Madrid player in the aftermath, that has now changed.
Sources in Spain close to the national team have suggested the 27-year-old, who has struggled with serious injuries throughout his career, could be out for at least a month – although PSG doctors’ first impressions of the issue are more optimistic, and the club, for now, measure the attacker’s potential absence at a few weeks rather than months.
The injury comes at a bad time for Asensio and PSG with the Champions League set to start next week, and the Spaniard in solid form during the opening games of the season, scoring twice and adding an assist.
