Premier League club to make decision on Derby County target in ‘next couple of weeks’
Derby County are eager to look to the Premier League to bolster their chances of staying in the Championship next season.
The Rams won automatic promotion back in April and will be eager to avoid an immediate return to League One.
Paul Warne will look to replicate some of Frank Lampard’s biggest signings during his spell at the club, snapping up the likes of Harry Wilson, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori from the top flight.
The former netted 16 goals and provided four assists as the Rams reached the play-offs, and now another Liverpool academy graduate is on the radar of the promoted club.
Derby County are thought to be long-term admirers of Bobby Clark, who made his senior debut in 2022.
The 19-year-old has racked up 14 appearances since and became the Reds’ youngest ever goalscorer in European competition when he bagged against Sparta Prague in March.
Bobby Clark set for new long-term Liverpool contract
Clark is believed to be attracting interest from across England and Europe, but Liverpool are yet to make a decision on his short-term future.
The Merseyside outfit are preparing to offer Clark a new long-term contract next week.
However, while they want him to stay at Anfield in the long run, they are yet to decide whether to send him out on loan or where the best destination would be for him if he was to leave.
The report claims RB Salzburg, RB Leipzig, Norwich and Rangers are just some of the teams interested.
Derby County face European competition for his signature
If Liverpool do decide to loan him out then the Rams will no doubt be throwing their hat into the ring, but they face really tough competition for his signature.
Pride Park is clearly a very good place to help develop youngsters, with many exciting players already coming up through the academy.
However, Clark could also be very tempted by a move abroad due to previous success of English players.
The likes of Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham and Tomori have all enjoyed plenty of success after moving abroad.
Derby should keep pushing to sign him though because there is no doubting that he would be a very good signing.
