Platense president confirms terms of Pellegrino deal and that Milan beat ‘many other teams’

August 23, 2023

The president of Club Atletico Platense, Sebastian Ordonez, has lifted the lid on how the negotiation with AC Milan went for Marco Pellegrino including the terms agreed upon.

On their official website, Milan confirmed last night that they have completed the permanent signing of Pellegrino from Club Atlético Platense. The Argentinian defender has signed a contract with the Rossoneri until 30 June 2028.

Born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) on 18 July 2002, Marco grew up in the Platense Youth Sector with which he made his debut in the first team on 23 March 2023, amassing 17 appearances and 1 goal.

MilanLive conducted an interview with Ordonez who led the negotiation on the part of his club by flying to Italy, and he revealed some interesting details about the negotiation.

How did the negotiations with Milan go?

“The negotiation went well, starting with the telephone or zoom conversations in which I met Antonio D’Ottavio and Geoffrey Moncada, already from there there was a rapprochement and therefore a meeting was held here in Milan in which I participated to advance the negotiation for the transfer of Marco to Milan a little.

“The trip lasted 48 hours in which, on excellent terms, everyone looking after their own interests, the negotiation was concluded on Sunday. And so, today Tuesday, after he did his medical tests, Marco was able to sign the contract.”

What are the terms and numbers of this deal?

“The operation closed at 3.5 million and 2 million in bonuses upon the occurrence of certain conditions. For Atletico Platense there is a 10% future resale clause.”
