Oriol Romeu drops hint on his Barcelona future amid Girona interest

The midfielder has been linked with an exit

Oriol Romeu has dropped a big hint that he will leave Barcelona in the summer transfer window and potentially move back to Girona.

The midfielder has fallen out of favor this season after returning to the Catalans and says his biggest priority is now playing and enjoying his football again.

“When you get older you want to enjoy yourself on the field and that is the priority for next year,” he said.

“When a new coach comes in there are always movements and there are always new developments and we have to wait to see what the club says and the intentions of each one.”

Romeu also went on to talk about former club Girona, who are keen to bring him back, and said it “has been a joy” to watch them his season.

A move back to Girona does seem the best option for all parties, and it seems likely Romeu will be heading off again in the summer after just one season back.
