Oleksandr Zinchenko loses his cool and other Man City moments missed from Arsenal win
Manchester City progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup following a tight victory over Arsenal
It was not a match that will live long in the memory but Manchester City managed to progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup after victory over Arsenal.
Pep Guardiola’s side did not have it all their own way at the Etihad Stadium on Friday night with Takehiro Tomiyasu and Leandro Trossard both forcing Stefan Ortega into good saves. Kevin De Bruyne went close for City but they needed a spark.
That came through Julian Alvarez who, just after the hour mark, struck the post from long range. The rebound fell to Jack Grealish who did brilliantly to pull the ball back for Nathan Ake to side-foot the winner home for the Blues.
Oleksandr Zinchenko fumes
The Ukrainian received a warm reception at the Etihad Stadium on Friday night with the fans applauding him when he was warming up, before doing so again when he was substituted onto the pitch. It was a trademark cameo from Zinchenko who worked hard for the Gunners.
However, he was in no mood to socialise with his former City colleagues at full-time as they teased him about the result. The full-back was visibly unhappy but managed to calm down and shared a joke with Kyle Walker who swapped shirts with the ex-City man before they left the field.
