National team federation backs Barcelona superstar’s team spirit as he awaits debut call-up
Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia continues to earn praise, not only for his performances but also for his attitude off the pitch.
According to a recent report from SPORT, the Royal Spanish Football Federation has a very positive view of the young keeper, especially when it comes to his behaviour within the squad.
The federation believes that his presence in the national team environment would only strengthen the group dynamic.
“With Joan Garcia, the team spirit would be perfect,” they say at the federation.
Reasons to back
As such, this confidence is not based on speculation, as those within the federation point to his past experiences in the youth national teams, where he often had to accept a secondary role without creating any problems.
During his time with the Spain Under-21 side under Luis de la Fuente, Garcia was called up five times.
Despite that, he only played one full match against Slovakia and a brief ten-minute appearance against Malta.
His earlier years in the youth setup followed a similar pattern. Under coach Santi Denia, Garcia was only a backup option. Even so, his attitude left a strong impression on those around him.
“He’s a very good person. He was a great discovery,” the source adds.
