NABY KEÏTA TO MISS UPCOMING GAMES WITH A MINOR MUSCLE INJURY
Werder Bremen have confirmed that Naby Keïta will spend a period of time on the sidelines with a minor muscle injury picked up in their game against Hoffenheim at the weekend.
Head of first-team football Clemens Fritz said: “It’s obviously very disappointing for Naby, as he had only just returned to full fitness. It’s not a serious injury, but he will definitely miss at least both of our upcoming matches.” Keïta will now likely miss the upcoming international break for Guiena and Bremen’s games against Borussia Dortmund and Union Berlin.
The game against Hoffenheim was Keïta’s first start for Bremen having joined them in the summer on a free transfer from Liverpool. The 28-year-old had made two cameos in Bremen’s games against 1.FC Köln and Darmstadt after returning from a muscle tear suffered in pre-season.
Currently, despite the fact that Bremen were able to bring Keïta in on a free transfer the move does not seem like the coup it was in the summer due to the midfielder’s injury proneness as the constant stopping and starting means he will never be able to gain confidence let alone form.
