Milan want Atletico Madrid striker – how they plan to finance the operation

March 27, 2023

AC Milan are interested in signing Alvaro Morata this summer and they have a strategy to try and make it work, according to a report.

While waiting to see how the current season will end and if Champions League qualification will be secured, the Milan management are already starting to think about the summer market and in particular about the attacking department.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are starting thinking about how to raise cash through sales and savings on some sizeable salaries to help fund the move for a new striker.

Ante Rebic and Fodé Ballo-Touré could leave and bring around €10m, with the Croatian earning €3.5m net per year, while Sergino Dest will not be bought permanently from Barcelona and so Milan will no longer have to pay his €3.8m net salary.

Divock Origi is also among the highest paid members of the squad as he will earn €4m net per year until 2026, but he is unlikely to leave in the summer, but Tiemoué Bakayoko will depart freeing €2.5m in salary.
