Milan rediscover quality and creativity with Leao but he alone will not be enough

May 16, 2023

Good news arrived for AC Milan yesterday in view of tonight’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Inter as Rafael Leao is fit enough to start.

As Corriere della Sera writes, Leao’s absence was greatly felt in the first leg and it will be up to him to take the team by the hand in their attempts to overturn the two-goal deficit sustained in the first leg.

With Leao in the team Milan certainly rediscover some quality and creativity, but to think that he can do everything alone is wrong. The 23-year-old cannot solve all the problems on his own, and would be a grave mistake to imagine that his return is enough for a comeback.

A great collective performance will be fundamental for Stefano Pioli’s side if they are to complete a truly historic feat. They believe in it at Milanello, and while the current league form is far from good, the Champions League is Milan’s home.
