Michael Owen gives verdict on Trent Alexander-Arnold Liverpool boos vs Arsenal

May 12, 2025

Former Liverpool and Real Madrid striker Michael Owen has had his say on supporters booing Trent Alexander-Arnold

Michael Owen was left disappointed by Liverpool supporters who booed Trent Alexander-Arnold inside Anfield for Liverpool’s draw with Arsenal. However, the former Reds and Real Madrid striker believes that it is only ‘less than one percent’ who feel as strongly to do so and the vast majority are appreciative of the departing vice-captain.

Moments that stole the spotlight from the newly-crowned champions’ stalemate with second-placed Arsenal were pre-match, when Alexander-Arnold’s name was booed by a select amount as it was read out as part of the Liverpool team, the same again when the same player replaced Conor Bradley during the second half and lastly once again as the 26-year-old clapped those in the crowd at full-time.
