Man Utd submit ‘offer’ to agree huge contract to sign £86m star
Man Utd have submitted a huge contract offer to sign Ronald Araujo from Barcelona, as per the latest reports in Spain.
According to a story published today, the Uruguayan international is seriously affected by what is happening in the market.
Two years ago, the South American agreed a new contract with the Blaugrana with a release clause of a billion euros.
Currently, Araujo earns a salary of around £124,000 a week.
However, lately, Man Utd have submitted an ‘offer’ to greatly improve the central defender’s wages.
It is stated that the Red Devils have ‘bet heavily’ on the player but they are not alone in the race as Bayern Munich have also made a great offer.
As per AS, these proposals caused Araujo’s reps to call Barcelona to sit down and negotiate a contract improvement that has somewhat defocused the center back.
His red card against Paris Saint-Germain resulted in Barca’s elimination from the Champions League and on Monday, he was average in the win over Valencia.
Due to serious economic concerns, Barcelona are looking to raise cash worth 100 million euros (£86m) so as to improve the books.
The Madrid based media outlet claim Araujo is one of the few players in the squad that can get them the fee of £86m.
The pressure from Manchester United and Bayern offers have distracted the 25-year-old, who may end up leaving the Catalan giants this summer.
