Man City have held talks to buy £50m star who Liverpool thought they had already signed

Over the years, Manchester City and Liverpool have become firm rivals on the pitch, two sides who have often dueled for the Premier League crown.
Of course, Liverpool are set to win the league in Arne Slot’s first season with very little bother from Man City at least, a side who are simply hoping to win a spot in the Champions League.
It’s been a disappointing season from Pep Guardiola’s point of view, who will be determined to strengthen his squad over the summer working alongside new sporting director Hugo Viana.
City spent a considerable amount of funds in January but that shouldn’t deter a summer splurge too, when the club will potentially look to replace the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker.
And from Liverpool’s perspective they will also have funds to invest, a side who have stayed patient under Slot so far, a manager they are prepared to back this summer.
