Leao’s renewal moving closer as deal worth €45m is agreed
AC Milan are closing in on an agreement over the renewal of Rafael Leao, a report claims, with a five-year deal ready to be signed.
As reported this mornibg, the Milan management are in continuous contact with those of Sporting CP regarding the fine issue and it cannot be excluded that everything is resolved in the middle of this week.
An economic agreement between Milan and Leao has been reached over a five-year extension for the Portuguese winger. Everything is ready on that front, meaning only the Sporting fine needs to be resolved.
Sporting are asking for €45m which is the amount of Leao’s release clause before he terminated his deal with them. In the next few days Milan will try to find an agreement on the amount, but if this were not the case, they would not wait any longer.
Lille are in agreement that the issue has dragged on too long, and that is why they too are hoping that the €22m can be paid soon. Leao wants to quickly resolve the problems with his old club, so as to sign the new contract worth €7m net per season for at least the next five years.
