Lazio Probable Lineup vs Cagliari: Only One Doubt for Gattuso

November 1, 2026

In the 10th matchday of Serie A, Lazio are preparing to host Cagliari at a virtually empty Stadio Olimpico.

The Aquile have a golden chance to seize first place in the table. They only need to pick up a result against their Sardinian visitors. Even a defeat with a one-goal deficit would allow Gennaro Gattuso’s men to end the round on top, but the team has certainly set a more ambitious objective.

Lazio Lineup to Remain Virtually the Same Against Cagliari
Despite playing in midweek, Lazio won’t rotate their starting lineup. In fact, Gattuso is expected to confirm the bulk of the starting lineup that hammered Sassuolo by six goals to two on Tuesday. According to La Lazio Siamo Noi, Tijjani Noslin will lead the lineup once more, flanked by Gustav Isaksen and Mattia Zaccagni, while Davide Frattesi, Reda Belahyane, and Kenneth Taylor will start in midfield.

Oliver Provstgaard Is Back

The one change expected to take place at the back is Oliver Provstgaard’s return to the starting lineup. The Dane started every game this season before leaving his place for Diogo Leite at the Mapei Stadium. However, the identity of his defensive partner remains a mystery, as Danilho Doekhi is challenging Josip Sutalo for a place.

At this stage, the Croatian is considered the favourite (60%) to keep his place ahead of the Dutchman (40%), reports La Gazzetta dello Sport. The pink newspaper leaves a similar chance for Leite to usurp Provstgaard, but other sources consider it unlikely. Nuno Tavares, Romano Floriani Mussolini, and Christos Mandas are guaranteed starting roles.

Lazio Probable XI (4-3-3): Mandas; Floriani Mussolini, Sutalo (Doekhi), Provstgaard, Tavares; Frattesi, Belahyane, Taylor; Isaksen, Noslin, Zaccagni.

Official Lazio Matchday Squad
Lazio have also revealed their matchday squad, which unsurprisingly doesn’t include the injured Nicolo Rovella, Adam Marusic, and Albert Gudmundsson. Young winger Federico Serra is also missing after taking part in Lazio U20’s 3-1 win over Sassuolo U20 in Saturday’s Primavera contest.

Goalkeepers: Mandas, Motta, Renzetti;
Defenders: F. Bordon, R. Bordon, Doekhi, Floriani Mussolini, Lazzari, Leite, Pedraza, Pellegrini, Provstgaard, Sutalo, Tavares;
Midfielders: Belahyane, Cataldi, Dele-Bashiru, Farcomeni, Frattesi, Przyborek, Taylor;
Forwards: Cancellieri, Isaksen, Noslin, Pinamonti, Zaccagni.
