Kylian Mbappe sends message to PSG teammates, as latest Neymar fallout threatens issues at club

February 13, 2023

Kylian Mbappe has sent a message to his PSG teammates, following the loss to Monaco, after reports of a dressing room argument involving Neymar.

All has not been well behind the scenes at PSG this season, if all is to be believed, with several reports of fallings out between players.

It all kicked off last summer when it was claimed that part of Mbappe’s deal to stay in Paris, and sign a new contract, was the club selling Neymar.

That never happened but tension seemed to be high between the two stars, especially when Neymar took a penalty off the French forward early in the season.

There were reports of things being thrown in the dressing room, although manager Christophe Galtier did claim that things between the two forwards were all good.

Now it seems that the Brazilian has issues with other teammates, with L’Equipe saying the most expensive player ever told off Vitinha and Hugo Ekitike after Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Monaco.

He and captain Marquinhos are also said to have had strong words for ‘Football Advisor,’ Luis Campos, who holds a lot of power at the Parc des Princes.

Now Mbappe has come out with a defiant message, trying to rally his teammates, posting an image of the PSG badge alongside the message, “Let’s stay strong and united,” onto his Instagram story.

The World Cup Golden Boot winner from the end of last year was recently made vice captain of the team by Galtier, although Presnel Kimpembe, who previously held the role, admitted he wasn’t told about the change.

Kimpembe was acting like a captain on Saturday night, as he had to talk to the team’s ultras using a megaphone, following the loss to Monaco.

Despite signing a new deal last summer, Mbappe was linked with a move away from the club back in October, after claims he was already unhappy.

It’s perhaps no surprise that things aren’t good in the dressing room at the moment, with results on the pitch having been poor since club football returned.

The loss to Monaco means they have earned just 10 points from their last seven games, and Marseille are just five points behind them.

Igor Tudor’s side also knocked their rivals out of the Coupe de France in midweek, meaning Galtier’s side were defeated twice in a matter of days.

They have a huge Champions League tie with Bayern Munich coming up but they could be facing an injury crisis at the worst possible time, with Mbappe and Lionel Messi both doubts.
