KYLIAN MBAPPE SENDS FOUR-WORD MESSAGE TO LIVERPOOL’S IBRAHIMA KONATE AFTER FRANCE WIN

March 28, 2023

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has posted an image on his Instagram where he is all smiles with PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe after France’s 1-0 win over the Republic of Ireland on Monday evening.

Forgotten French fullback Benjamin Pavard, who didn’t make the 2022 World Cup squad, scored the only goal of the game with a stunning effort from outside of the area, as Ibrahima Konate partnered Dayot Upamecano at the heart of the defence to help his nation to a clean sheet, alongside the points.

After the game, Liverpool’s man at the back tagged Kylian Mbappe in his post with the simple caption of +3, as the recently-appointed France captain responded in the comments section by saying ‘This is the same’.

To nobody’s surprise, the Liverpool faithful started to bombard Mbappe with messages, where they were asking him to join the Anfield-based club, but of course, with FSG in charge, that’s a pipe dream because they can’t seem to get a simple midfield signing through the doors.

But, he has picked up some much-needed form and confidence over the international break.

Whilst France’s win over the Republic of Ireland was expected, their recent three points over the Netherlands was even more impressive.

Konate started that game also, as Virgil van Dijk’s Netherlands were outclassed and smashed 4-0 in Paris to start their qualifying campaign in the worst possible start – the French media were full of praise for Konate on the night.

Nonetheless, when Konate and van Dijk return to domestic action, they will be expected to be the first-choice pairing for Liverpool’s trip to Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s side are eight points behind leaders Arsenal, and their contest will be the early game this weekend, where the champions of England know full well that they can no longer slip up in their quest to win three in a row.
