Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele lead the list of stars across Europe in the final year of contracts

June 24, 2023

While players dip into their bank accounts for luxurious summer vacations, clubs are entertaining boardroom battles to bring in new talents and sanctioning sales for unwanted stars.

The modern day transfer market is the most inflated it has ever been with triple digit sums thrown around as a casual reminder of the riches of football as clubs look to cash-in on players boasting serious potential.

Premier League teams are the unlucky customers when it comes to being quoted the highest of prices given the riches of the English top-flight, but there are still deals to be done and fees to be haggled as player contracts run down.

European talents can significantly improve their salaries by moving to the Premier League and there are plenty of cut-price bargains on the cards this summer.

Mail Sport takes a deep delve into the 10 best European talents available for a reduced fee this summer.

As it stands, Mbappe’s decision to not extend his stay in the French capital means the Ligue 1 champions must either cash-in now or risk losing him on a free next summer.

Any deal will still likely cost triple digits with Real Madrid the most likely candidates to snap up the 24-year-old who has previously held discussions with the Spanish giants, although Premier League contenders will be hoping they are still in with a chance.

Mbappe – along with Erling Haaland – is the next icon of world football with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo winding down, and his next career move will be a huge decision for the World Cup winner as he leaves French football for the first time.

Expected price: £120m – £150m
