Key reasons behind Thiago Motta’s incoming sacking from Juventus

March 23, 2025

Serie A giants are all but set to part ways with Thiago Motta in the next few days and a decision seems to have already been made.

Igor Tudor seems to be coming closer to becoming the Bianconeri boss and returning to the club for the first time since his stint as assistant under Andrea Pirlo.

Goal Italia have now looked at why Juve are looking to sack Motta and they detail some key reasons behind the incoming decision.

One important factor that has let Motta down is the lack of tactical integration of the players. The club believe that he has been bent on using his own shape instead of adapting to the players at hand, often using players like Teun Koopmeiners out of position.

There is also a feeling at the club that Motta has lost the dressing room. There is belief that after Juve’s loss to Empoli in the Coppa Italia, Motta had indirectly called out players and many of them were not happy. Some players were already perplexed by his methods and Motta had failed to communicate his ideas to the squad.

Then there is the simple matter of results. A host of draws didn’t make too many people at the club happy and the lack of silverware, followed by the defeats to Atalanta and Fiorentina have tarnished the manager’s reputation amongst many. After all, qualifying for the Champions League was going to be a key for the club.
