Juventus revives their interest in January target as Kolo Muani move stalls

July 24, 2026

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have yet to reach an agreement over the return of Randal Kolo Muani to Turin this summer, with the Bianconeri continuing their efforts to bring the forward back to the club. Negotiations remain ongoing as both sides attempt to agree on terms that would allow the transfer to be completed.

Like last summer, Kolo Muani is keen to return to Juventus and is reportedly not considering offers from other clubs as he hopes an agreement can be reached to secure another move to Turin. The player’s desire to rejoin the Bianconeri has remained unchanged, but a deal will depend on the two clubs finding common ground.

Juventus consider alternative attacking options
Juventus are eager to help Kolo Muani complete his preferred move and have been in discussions with Paris Saint-Germain in an attempt to finalise an agreement. However, the clubs must still agree on a transfer fee before any deal can progress further, leaving the situation unresolved for the time being.

According to Calciomercato, as negotiations continue, Juventus have revived their interest in Jean Philippe Mateta as a potential alternative. The French forward has re-emerged as a target as the club assess other options in case an agreement for Kolo Muani cannot be reached.

Mateta back on Juventus shortlist
The Bianconeri were interested in signing Mateta from Crystal Palace at the beginning of the year after struggling to cope with the absence of Dusan Vlahovic through injury. However, the two clubs were unable to reach an agreement, prompting Juventus to end their pursuit at that time.

Juventus could now renew their interest in the striker and attempt to bring him to the Allianz Stadium during this transfer window. Mateta is reportedly keen to leave Crystal Palace, and a move to one of the world’s leading clubs would be an attractive opportunity if the two sides can agree on a transfer.
