Juventus offer €6.5m contract to Barcelona midfielder, want him on €15m loan-to-buy deal

July 17, 2023

Offers from Saudi Arabia have taken European football by storm. The Middle-East based League has already completed the acquisition of several top players from across the globe as they bid to become the next big league in football.

Yet, there are many who prefer the prestige and competition of Europe to the money of Saudi Arabia. Franck Kessie is one such star.

The Barcelona midfielder emerged as a top target for Al Hilal in recent weeks and was even in talks with the club. However, he still feels he has a lot to give in top-flight football and is seriously considering his options after the entry of Juventus into the race.

According to reports from Giacomo Iacobellis, the Old Lady offer to take the player on loan for one season with the option to purchase him next summer for €15 million.

In that period, they will provide him with a salary of €6.5 million, thus taking the weight off the Catalans’ shoulders.

If the Italians trigger the clause to purchase him next summer, he would have a contract with Juventus for the next four seasons.

Kessie understands that he will not have many minutes at Barcelona next season, especially after the arrival of Ilkay Gundogan. While his first choice would be to continue under Xavi’s command, he is not opposed to leaving given the numerous option on his table.

His future is currently said to be a mess, and a final decision is only expected after Barcelona’s pre-season tour in the United States of America.

The 26-year-old made just seven starts for Barcelona in last season’s La Liga. In his 28 appearances in the competition, he averaged 36 minutes per game and contributed directly to two goals.
