Juventus CFO Offers Strong Endorsement for Allegri

May 1, 2023

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has come under scrutiny due to a string of underwhelming results and the elimination from the Coppa Italia semifinals at the hands of Inter. However, the brass plots to stick with him.

“Our objectives now are finishing in second place and reaching the Europa League final. We have to get to that point before thinking about lifting the trophy.”

The director backed Allegri with clear words.

“At this stage, confirming him is obvious. That’s our position. He joined to embark on a four-year project. We aren’t even at the midway point of that. His 11 titles and 2 Champions League finals speak for him. He’s not on the hot seat.”

Calvo also touched on the new sporting director. The Bianconeri have been linked to a host of names, predominantly Napoli chief Cristiano Giuntoli.

“We are planning the future along with Federico Cherubini and the coach. We operate like a testudo. Whoever arrives will have to integrate with Juventus. The club’s solidity doesn’t hinge on one person. The point deduction was a very difficult moment, but we overcame it. This is the most challenging stretch of the season, but also the right one to start anew and kick it into high gear.”
