Jurgen Klopp confirmed in new Liverpool role two months after being replaced by Arne Slot

July 12, 2024

Jurgen Klopp is maintaining his connection with Liverpool after agreeing to become an honorary ambassador for the LFC Foundation, the club’s official charity.

Klopp ended his nine-year Anfield reign at the end of May and departed as the only Liverpool manager to win the Champions League, league title and FA Cup. He handed the club over to Arne Slot and the Dutchman says he has left the squad in an excellent place after replacing their entire midfield last summer.

Liverpool are keen to maintain their links with Klopp and the German has been a long-standing admirer and ambassador of the LFC Foundation. He has supported it in many different ways – welcoming visits to the AXA Training Centre, speaking about the vital work happening every day across the Liverpool city region and attending events to raise awareness and funds for the charity.

Following Klopp’s last game in charge against Wolves in May, he gave the LFC Foundation a range of unique items worn and signed by him for a fundraising auction, which raised an incredible £40,000 in just seven days. Speaking about his role as LFC Foundation honorary ambassador Klopp said: “The LFC Foundation does an incredible job in the community, both in the Liverpool city region and beyond.

“I’m really proud to continue my work with them and be named the first-ever LFC Foundation honorary ambassador. “I look forward to seeing what we can do with that now that I have more time on my hands.”
