Josip Stanišić eager and hopeful for Bayern Munich’s 2024/25 season

The Croatian international has just signed a new long-term deal with Bayern and is ready to win more silverware.
Josip Stanišić has just recently signed a contract extension with Bayern Munich that will keep him at the club until June 2029. He returned to the club after a season-long loan spell with Bayer Leverkusen that was highlighted by winning both the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal and having finished runners-up in the Europa League, losing 3-0 in the final to Atalanta in Dublin, Ireland.
As recently as two months ago, the Croatian internationals future was uncertain, but with Thomas Tuchel, who was not the biggest advocate of the defender’s. now out of the picture at Bayern, Stanišić has committed his future until 2029 to the club. He might face competition at right back from both Noussair Mazraoui and Joshua Kimmich under new manager Vincent Kompany, but there have been rumors that both of those players could be leaving the club during this summer’s transfer window.
Croatia did not make it to the knockout stages of the Euros, so it will just be a brief period off for Stanišić before reporting for duty for preseason preparations for Bayern. With a completely new coaching staff, and some newly anticipated signings, the right back is eagerly looking forward to next season for the Rekordmeister, determined to bring more silverware back to Munich.
“We have a very good team, a very good group, with some fresh blood, which is also good for us. At Bayern, no matter who is there, we want to win titles. That’s my goal. We also have another Champions League final at home. It would be very nice to reach it and win it. There’s still a long way to go until then, so I’m not really thinking about it yet – but I have some goals in my mind, it would be nice to achieve them,” the defender said in previewing the coming campaign.
As of now, it remains to be seen where, exactly, Stanišić will fit into Kompany’s plans, but the same could be said for a lot of players in the Bayern squad given that there is now a completely new and fresh coaching staff. There are also rumors of defenders potentially leaving the club this summer, which could change how things look for Stanišić going into next season. Regardless, there is a breathe of fresh air knowing he is hungry and ready to win more trophies with Bayern coming off of such an amazing loan spell at Leverkusen.
