Marc Guiu is the name on everyone’s lips in Barcelona after the 17-year-old wonderkid fired his club to a crucial 1-0 win over Athletic Club on his first-team debut on Sunday.

Having been called up to the squad in the absence of Robert Lewandowski, the teenage La Masia prodigy grabbed his big chance with both hands, scoring the match-winning goal within a minute after coming on as a substitute.

It was undoubtedly a special moment for Guiu and his family and will remain etched in the fans’ memory for a long time.

Amidst all this, Barcelona loanee Joao Cancelo made a special and very interesting request to Marc Guiu after his goal against Athletic Club.

After the full-time whistle at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys last night, Cancelo went up to the 17-year-old wonderkid to congratulate him, and said (h/t SPORT):

“You have to pay for a dinner. You have to pay for a dinner at McDonald’s.”

Now, it will certainly be interesting to see whether Guiu goes on to fulfil his senior teammate’s request.

Everything aside, it was a special night for Guiu and the youngster will hope that it is the start of a successful career with the Barcelona first team.
