Conte and De Laurentiis: ‘We have the same vision’ for Napoli future

Antonio Conte explains he decided to stay with Napoli because they have ‘the same vision’ for the future, while Aurelio De Laurentiis pledged to give the coach ‘whatever he wants.’

The situation has changed completely over the last 48 hours, as early on Tuesday it was assumed by multiple sources that they would part company.

The tension had been brewing for several months, but the Scudetto celebrations prompted Conte to change his mind and commit to remain at the Stadio Maradona.

“At the end of every season, there is a discussion between coach and club, to evaluate the year and understand if they have the same vision for the future, the same vision to achieve victories,” Conte told Sky Sport Italia on Thursday evening.

“We have the same vision, because we are serious people. We talked it over, evaluated the season, both the positives and negatives.

“Having celebrated the Scudetto was wonderful and incredible. There is the desire to continue building solid foundations for Napoli, moving in the same direction to make Neapolitans proud.”
