Injured Real Madrid superstar’s return timeline has been shortened, could be back for Super Cup

December 26, 2023

Real Madrid have coasted through their injury crisis this season with relative ease. The team has indeed been inflicted with several short and long-term blows to key players along the course of the season, yet, the overwhelming bench strength has come to good use for Carlo Ancelotti.

The manager recovered the services of Aurelien Tchouameni for the final games of 2023 and announced in his press conference that the likes of Vinicius Jr, Eduardo Camavinga and Arda Guler were close to a complete return.

MARCA provides an update on the situation of the Brazilian winger.

Objective Super Cup
As revealed by the Spanish outlet, Vinicius is still eyeing a return at the Spanish Super Cup slated to take place in Riyadh next month.

The initial prognosis of his injury did not paint a pretty picture, but he has hit his recovery deadlines earlier than expected.

His good genetics and work ethic, MARCA adds, are the key factors that have enabled a speedy recovery. He began training on the grasses of Valdebebas earlier this month and is on the cusp of a return less than two months after his muscular lesion.

The Brazilian could thus make his first appearance of 2024 against Atletico Madrid on the 10th of January at Al-Awwal Park if everything goes to plan.

Working with no break
The team is currently on a well-deserved Christmas break after a hectic year, recuperating and preparing for the gruelling schedule to come. Yet, the hiatus has not stopped the likes of Vinicius and Camavinga from pushing through their recoveries.

The Real Madrid duo are currently enjoying their Christmas holidays together in the United States. However, they are concurrently using the facilities of LA Galaxy in Los Angeles to stay in shape and continue their fight for fitness.

Needless to say, their work ethic and drive to return on the field is admirable and a quality that will enable them to touch the stars.
