Impressive Andreas Christensen stat emerges after Barcelona’s win over Atletico

December 5, 2023

Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen is a player who seems to prefer to stay out of the spotlight and keep a relatively low profile.

Yet the Dane continues to impress at Barcelona, following his move from Chelsea, and his statistics certainly make for great reading.

Christensen wasn’t supposed to play against Atletico on Sunday but came into the starting XI after Inigo Martinez suffered an injury.

The defender then went on to impress yet again alongside Ronald Araujo and now has the best passing accuracy rate across Europe, according to WhoScored.

Against Atletico, Christensen completed 57 of his 58 passes and helped Barcelona keep a clean sheet against Diego Simeone’s in-form side.

Martinez’s injury means that Christensen is likely to continue in the starting XI over the next few weeks and add to his 12 La Liga appearances.

There has been talk this season about Christensen’s future. The latest update has suggested he’s happy where he is and could even renew at the end of the campaign.
